Becoming A Better Guitar Player

Looking back over my years as a guitar player, there are a three important factors that have helped me get to the level of playing that I currently am at today, and they are patience, persistence and practice. Apply these three things to your guitar playing and you will eventually get better too.

When I was a teenager, something I found difficult was getting good quality information on learning the guitar, I never had the convenience of the internet and the vast amount of information that you can now find on it about learning to play.

I also never had the luxury of a guitar teacher that could show me the proper way of doing things. My only other option at the time if I wanted to get better was to start reading and studying from books.

Yes, learning this way did take more time for me to get to the level that I'm now at today. It would have been a lot easier and faster having had a teacher to guide me along. I've literally read hundreds of books on theory, scales, chord books, books from my local library, thousands of lessons in guitar mags, and any other book or VHS video that had relevent information about learning guitar and about music.

I know that not everyone has the luxury of finding a good guitar teacher, whether its because of where you live, or maybe you just can't afford the price of a good teacher, whatever the reason may be.

So, that is why these free guitar lessons and Guitar Lessons Central exist. It's here, and I'm here, to try to guide you along with good quality, relevent information about guitar. A place to ask questions and have them answered.

The soul purpose of Guitar Lessons Central and these free guitar lessons is to help you become a better guitar player

You don't have to go it alone like I did!

Just remember these three things:

Patience, Pesistence, and Practice

Guitar Pro 5

Tab Editor...

I've been using a cool little program called Guitar Pro 5, which makes writing tab or standard music notation a breeze. This software not only writes tab, but also plays the tab back to you as well, using what the developers of Guitar Pro 5 call the midi realistic sound engine.

guitar proHow Does It Work?

Basically what the smart fellas did with this new version of Guitar Pro was they took sounds from real guitars and used them as samples for the midi playback engine. It gives you the option of listening to the playback with a straight midi sound (boring) or using the realistic sound engine (pretty sweet).

This cool software has everything from a built in speed trainer, a metronome, a tuner. It can print your tab off as PDF file, it looks just like tab you find in professionally printed tab books, it can import tab made from other tab editors, and you can easily share your tab with friends.

There are many more features that this cool software has inside it, too many to list on this page.
