In this lesson we are going to look at a few basic guitar strumming patterns that you beginners can start with.
They will help you to further develop your timing and get a good feel for rhythm. This lesson will also be good for helping you come up with your own strumming patterns.
To better follow this lesson, it is suggested that you have an understanding of the basic rudiments of music or at least understand the differences between the note values so you know exactly on what beats that you need to strum.

After practicing these strumming patterns, try making up some of your own.
Another fun way to practice your strumming is to find an easy song you like on CD and strum along to that. Figure out the strumming pattern that is being used in the song and then try and do the same.
